As fa as I know there are not many precedents to this idea of Roberto Piaia’s.Therefore, has dedicated to symbolizing the passage of time with a series of original works. In the CANTO XXII Roberto Piaia ironically depicts the chaos of swindlers, emphasizing their earthly sins with drapes and tinsels. Silver, pewter and fine fabrics, represent the metaphor of their art of living dishonestly for today, grabbing everything they could as much as possible with vile means.
His favourite pictoric subject is however the woman, who for him stands for beauty, not only external, strength and sweetness. We find confirmation of this in the great project recently taken on by Piaia, a true "Homage to Women", as if with his sensitivity he wishes to protest against the discrimination suffered by women over the course of the years. He shows their true value and puts them in the spotlight in his all female representation of the Divine Comedy. The project is composed of an entire pictoric cycle of forty two canvases, and five bronze and marble sculptures, these represent Hell in the thirty-four songs, the seven deadly sins and a rather important painting "The Supper". robertopiaia.com

In Piaia’s world, the visions are intertwined mediated by the affective sphere and the recovery of atmospheres linked to ancestral memories, all rendered with an effective communicative immediacy that allows the gaze of the observer to be lulled by an enveloping sensation of one ecstasy “Oneiric” dreamy.
His love for details, his accurate pictorial technique, and his partial application of colour all contribute to transforming these drawings into remarkably high-quality finished works. Therefore, they are not sketches, but finished works which stand apart and would be sufficient to regard the artist’s drawing and compositional skills as excellent. I called this work"Genesis"which refers
to the birth of new ideas, the realization
of new projects, the generation of new
concepts that open the mind to both the
material and the mental plain.
I conceived it and represented it differently from other statuary figures that I shaped so far, because I enriched it with symbols that transmit positivity.
